Collars are the key to jacket fit as they hold the back and front of a jacket in place for the bodys heat to shape.

TD share their Story; Self Affirm, but move on.

Self-esteem leads to motivation. To know your whole story and what you have overcome, including ironies false beliefs and failures is whats makes us human, binds us in the present and builds trust. I like to tell my story of my roots on self determination. Coming from my great grandmother who survived Russian race riots and came to New York. Her son married a Georgian woman who knew how to make rum. I was named after her (initials). My grandfather Hymie was known as a rum runner. From Vancouver to Los Angeles. His car was build faster than the US highway police. But for the motorcycle cops, his car was an opportunity to party! They wanted to keep him in business, so they weren’t greedy. The family was very middle class but large. My take away is to find value when the times are tough, and ” build, baby, build”. Telling my story to this new TD profession is all about that, adding value and pride to those who get their story together each time they look into the mirror before going to the streets and towers. Your story when shared eye to eye is to be real and memorable. It needs to be honest in that you are not in blame but grateful. This sharing can come after you take an interest in your clients perceived success or their distance and their journey. Hopefully at some time your prospect will answer your calls for another coffee and show an interest in your tailoring support and their successful image. Remember their suit is nobodies business but yours and theirs.

Many achievers do not share or consider their success as they don’t have a story read to share. Often this is due to them having the impostor syndrome. When we share stories with prospects, or clients, we can have a “partner in crime”. We support our prospects to look great because they are great and in conservative time to treat themselves with an innocent addition. Many men shy from their greatness, and this is actually humorously a great sign. We are not selling fashion per say for first impression but are offering quality classic maintenance for a more substantial second impression that tempers the first impression. So, breaking that ice can give a modest man a healthy experience of change. Feeling like an imposter is weak and insipid and no life. A TDs courage, his shared story and kindness is rich. Sharing your story supports your future calls to support and serve. Time has nurtured your value and likelihood to give you a date to go for coffee where you can show some cloth.

Anyone can be motivated to work with a bigger picture. ” S.M.A.R.T. Goal “(Smart, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely goals). Successful men plan and share the celebration with those that matter. It’s relevant, enjoyable public relations.   Perhaps they will then acquire your offer, and you can celebrate with them over coffee.

Don’t be distracted by terminally casual friends. Be kind as its what’s inside that counts. If your old friends are intimidated, then support them in some kind of change. If you do business, they have to invest money to participate (as a rule) Celebrate your loyalty to your course skills with old friends, in a world of high-tech transition that demand service and self-esteem. Be around people that thrive on self-respect first and your business will survive and thrive. This means time for you to learn to be good at your work and one of the best in your area, while the world gets itself together

First World Quality is Relevant anywhere.

Often a hand made will end up looking home-made and inferior to a crisp engineered factory workshop. Ask your contact if he has a hand made suit to show you in his office. Mostly small tailors are not capitalized properly for quality finish A top fabric and trained eye helps, this is where you come in as we can go over this in the webinars. It may fit, but the style and finishing details are often not there. They sell cheap reputation and the lowest common denominator. For sure your prospect who buys from overseas often charitably contributes to the poor tailor.

Often outside old tailor shops in tourist areas, “hawkers” come out front prompts your “opportunity”. Here it’s the price and convenience of a quick tailored suit fits, not the suit and your decision making skills. We recommend when overseas buying casual cotton or linen slacks or shorts, instead of wool. If your client does not like work or his company and his level of security needs is low, then his suit investment will reflect this and sabotage the prospect of dressing for a better job or his own career.

A serious suit in wool that doesn’t fit is a mistake that reflects your taste and discretion. It’s rare I see a well made garment from a hand tailor in a developing country. I have only seen one nice once from India in 40 years. China has only three factories that are decent that I know of. Keep in mind those tailors who has emigrated to the west, appreciate international standards of tailoring in the first world. This is relevant in the west when competing with a waning retail inventory.

Mens Self-esteem and Wardrobe Packages

Samsons offers what we believe to be an important new vehicle. Not just the wardrobe package, but the reality, that men without purpose or skills are the problem in the west. Any man can dress, he needs no reason , no less than a woman that dresses up for a venue, men need this urban adventure, to get perspective from other men.

The wardrobe package is the ultimate stoic defense. Purchased over time is usually more modest as an inroad to a new lifestyle. Men hold back as they may not have experienced or have no direct need or utility. Only one man in 20 is dynamic enough to now bow to a brand, but to be the brand. This is leadership, within first a corporate community or other type of network.

Up to the 20th century, retail was the most efficient way to compete. But manufacturing was sent overseas and abundance has spoiled the scarcity of retail garments. For one’s self esteem, services and valued products will be the 21st. C. As rare is rich, but richness (brands) is not rare.

Today the tide is turning and manufacturing on the continent will be key to change. In the past men would collect garments and not effectively plan their wardrobe. From the first successful satisfactory fit and a template of measures and shaping instructions, bespoke fit wardrobe advocates will not welcome a salesmens, “May I help you.”

With the web men will soon consider having it made and as they show up and meet TDs we could see a transformation of shopping habits and service.

Critical thinking is important to think twice, measure twice and confirm clients’ requests. Eventually you will have the luxury of successful repeat completion. Always stand behind your garments and ask your client’s comfort. Be careful not to make perfection the enemy of the good while you are training. Customer satisfaction comes first. A TDs can be on hold. This is where your listening and feedback skills create rapport. Get your clients requests get taken care of.

Find out what motivates your clients.

Men’s conversation is either confrontational or competitive or collaborative. Strength is either physical, intellectual or sheer persistence combined with talent. These are ways to prompt men’s sharing their values or needs to justify their work, to buy and share things that motivate and make life worthwhile. Not something men expect to come from a coffee conversation from a tailor. Although what motivated me in 1975, when studying psychology, my professor said that Shakespeare wrote,” In what tailor shall we find Plato”. My father was a retailor and it made me think. Still thinking today at how I have changed my world of influence. Thanks much to my successful clients mentoring. It’s evident that the experience of the successful tailor that has dressed successful men, can be channeled to men looking to be surrounded by success, at least sartorially. Finding out what motivates me, is usually easy. It’s marked by your presence and interest in them and their successful appearance. Of course, you can assure them a higher fit and enduring suit.

A new graduate may not have much experience, but you can upgrade their perception of a successful suit. While they chose the cloth and style, there may be some existential considerations on the details. But this is a mute point when a TD helps them make the value of the experience of being the only bespoke fit suit in the room.
